Poured from the bottle into a large snifter glass.

A nice cocoa and espresso like colored head. Coffee like looking brown crema top with about two fingers of bubbles. Body is a dark walnut brown/black quite dark and fairly standard opaque.

Nose is advertised. Mint comes across as vanilla menthol, sort of those Andes like candy chocolates, sort of silky. A nice menthol warmth too, I really like this it's just that the chocolate angle seems kind of ordinary. No major complaints that's for sure.

Palate though is a bit acrid and sour. A slight sour, and real big bitter tinge on this of hinting burnt grain. Mint action lingers on the finish mixing with some type of hop bitter angle, possibly grapefruit. Interesting, but it feels a little off kilter. Warmth brings a much more controlled palate as subsequent sips bring out less bitter, allowing the chocolate and mint to dominate. Mouthfeel seems slightly thin but it's a minor thing.

Overall I wasn't getting that impressed on first sip, but it got considerably better the more of it I had over time.

Motor oil pour, soapy 3 finger head upon aggressive pour, head hung on for a good spell and left some spotty lacing, but a very nice looing Imperial Stout.

Aroma is roasty and chocolaty , no real menthol from the mint detected.

Velvety minty chocolate flavors. The dividing factor on the reviews I read are that the mint did not have enough presence, and I disagree: the mint is well centered in the mix, starting on the first sip with a slight cooling element from the mint that diminished into a nifty blending of the flavors.

Creamy mouthfeel, coats the palate well, 12 oz. is a perfect size to enjoy solo.

Delicious Stout that delivers what the label advertises: like drinking a rich stout brewed with Junior Mints. I really enjoyed this one and recommend it.

S: Minty, dark chocolate & roast malt aromas.
T: Bittersweet dark chocolate, mint flavors remind me of a hotel pillow mint.
M: Thick smooth chewy body with lightly bitter back end.
O: Excellent.

12oz bottle poured into Huna snifter.

Jet black, opaque elixir, 3mm mocha head, resets as a thin rim. Wisps of lacing.

Nice combo of mint, baker's chocolate, malt biscuit. Mint really comes out as the brew warms.

The taste follows the nose and reminds me of a nice mint brownie with a nice dairy/milk chaser.

Full bodied, nicely thick and chewy.

Well done, nice after dinner brew.

12oz bottle into a mini snifter.

pours a dark black with a slight head. smell is huge huge on mint chocolate...perfect! just as you'd expect. the taste is a big mouthful of mint chocolate at first but it ends very bitterly. drinkabilty is moderate...medium bodied with mild to low carbonation.

overall good niche beer. try it!
