From 12oz Bottle

Poured into Sam Adams glass

A: Deep, clear amber/orange color. You could also say copper. On a hard pour, I got a finger of relatively creamy head that mostly dissipated in about 90 seconds leaving a decent lacing on the glass and a thin head. As I drank my glass down, lacing continued to stick.

S: malty scent, relatively strong, slightly toasty. A hop smell is also forward.

T: taste is malty and bitter. The hop bitterness is very forward. It is balanced well with the strong malt flavors.

M: Has a medium body. The carbonation is good. The hoppy aftertaste lingers but not in a bad way.

O: This is a very drinkable pale ale if you are into stronger flavors, especially hops. For all the forward flavor, it is still well balanced and relatively clean tasting. It’s not an introductory pale ale however. It is aggressive for a pale. I have had a lot of this beer, and it pairs quite well with almost any meal.

I will try not to use ‘relatively’ three times in the next review.

A friend bought this beer for me; instead of my all-time favorite STONE IPA. The beer was subtle, and enjoyable, but still not comparable to there IPA.

Appearance: A nice(darker) golden-brown.
Smell: Aroma, was that of an ale... Nice beer smell.
Taste: Subtle, lightly distinctful. Above average; but not "wow".
Mouthfeel: enjoyable.

A - Murky copper gold with nice little white head.

S - fruit and bread malt with some hops.

T - Very balanced. Semi sweet malt with a slightly bitter hop finish. Orange peel.

M - Pleasantly over carbonated meets the malt medium body well.

O - Balanced feel and taste. Not over powering in any way but still packs a good amount of flavor and character. Something to drink when I'm tired of IPAs.
