The third of six beers taking place in the Unorganized Invitational is Stone Pale Ale. This is the beer that started it all for Stone Brewing, and I've enjoyed their other products, but this is the first time I've had thier Pale Ale, so what's the wait? Let's get this on:
Poured into a pint glass, its color is a deep caramel and orangish with a nice head. In the smell was caramel, biscuits, and citrus notes. The flavor was enjoyable with toasty breads. Hop flavor is mild and kicks in with grapefruit and lemon flavors. As the beer warms, it gets a fruity flavor. A dry, grainy finish ends each sip of the beer.
A nice, pleasant, and sessionable offering from Stone. That's the good news. The bad news is it's score won't be enough to overtake Anchor Bock for the early lead.
