Poured from bottle to an imperial pint. "Enjoy by 8/1/2011" etched on bottle, so I'm a little late.
A: Unfiltered and iced tea in color, with a thick, foamy, copper-hued head that has excellent retention and lacing.
S: Hops with a grapefruit/citrus aroma, a touch of caramel and a hint of diacetyl. A slight must, perhaps from being late to the party?
T: Very hoppy for the style. Caramel malts are present, but hops sits in the throne here for sure. A pungent, earthy hops finish.
M: Decent malt backbone, a little watery in the middle, and a nice drying hops finish.
O: Too bitter for me per the style, but perhaps this is due to me being three weeks past the "best by" date. I'd be willing to give this one another go with a fresher bottle. Picked up in a "mix 'n match" sixer, obviously it was available due to age.
