I've had the Stone Arrogant Bastard in a 22oz bomber and enjoyed the extreme hoppiness of it. I was in the distributor deciding to either go with my everyday IPA (DFH 60) or try something new. Went with the Stone IPA. Served in a DFH Signature glass.
A-Nice amber color. Slightly cloudy but not off putting. Lots of carbonation rising from my glass. Nice lacing left on the side of the glass.
S-Nice citrusy smell mixed with a sweet, hoppy smell.
T-Definitely more on the hoppy side than the DFH 60 which isn't necessarily a bad thing. There's a nice grapefruit or citrusy taste mixed in which is pretty common with many of the IPA's I've tried.
M-Nicely carbonated. Leaves a slightly bitter taste in the mouth after each sip.
D-Tough call...I liked this beer a lot BUT not as much as my DFH 60. I don't know quite what it is but if given the choice in the future, I'd rather have a DFH 60 or even a Founder's Centennial IPA or Lagunitas IPA. That being said, I'll have no problem finishing off my case. Worth a try for sure...

Served from 22 oz bottle into a pilsner glass.
A - Straw-colored, slightly hazy body. The head is thick and white. This is the way an IPA should look!
S - Orange, grass and spring flowers. Just a hint of pine and hemp.
T - Much like the smell, but more pungent. The orange and floral notes work in perfect harmony, with the semi-sweet crackery malt keeping everything in rhythm. The finish has more hoppy flavors and some assertive, but refreshing, bitterness.
M - A smooth mouthfeel to go with a medium body. Carbonation is near perfect.
O - A fantastic IPA. When enjoyed fresh, it's one of the best widely-distributed single IPAs around. If the six-pack weren't $12, this would be my go-to beer without a doubt.
