12oz. bottle poured into a tumbler glass.
A- a clear straw/orange/amber, with a pillowy white head, which sticks around and sticks all over the glass.
S- grapefruit and herbal/earthy/piney hops, a fruity yeastyness of sorts, and a bit of a caramel malt note.
T- Very bitter on the palette, hits hard up front with the herbal/piney hops, which give way to a bit of the caramel malt sweetness, but it's quickly overridden by the big piney/grapefruit hoppy end. Bitterness lingers awhile after the sip, perhaps a bit too long.
M- Excellent. Medium bodied, but smooth and almost syrup like. Quite dry on the finish for a single IPA.
O- a reference standard for the West Coast IPA. I could enjoy it anytime, anywhere, and it really hits home when I want a very bitter IPA (but don't feel like blowing my head off with Green Flash W.C. IPA)
