A: Pours a medium amber with a significant and persistant head in a standard pint glass. You need to be patient if you need to wait for the head to finally settle.
S: Spicy hops dominate the aroma. There is some fruit sweetness present as well.
T: As strong as the hops are in the nose, it's nowhere near as strong it tastes. It's surprisingly hoppy, even for an IPA. While there's a mild malt backbone, it's still a tad unbalanced... not a bad thing.
M: Not as thick as a DIPA, it's still pretty thick for an IPA.
D: I doubt I could have more than two of these. The tastebuds get a real workout with this beer.
Stone IPA is a fine example of the style. It may not be at the top of my list for IPAs, but it's close.
