This is one of my favorite IPAs. Stone really does a great job on hoppy beers.
It pours a beautiful hazy golden orange color with ok head retention with very sticky, off white lace.
The aroma is impressive, with strong notes of pine and floral and citrus. And I detect some biscut malts, then nothing but hops wofting to my nose's delight.
The taste is a little hint of sweetness and a lot of hop flavor. The bitterness is there, but very soft. It is far from harshness. No grapefruit, mainly pine and citrus in the flavor... something like lemon juice. And also the biscut malts come through in the flavor.
It is very smooth on the palate, with a nice lingering bitterness in the end... and a little dry, very little.
