This is from a case I bought at the Beer Mart in Reading, Pa. I drank it in a goblet. Expiry date on the bottle, and bottled date on the case. Great!
Pours a brilliantly clear golden amber with a one finger head of white foam. The head falls to islands and a ring, with great lacing. Carbonation looks low to medium.
Aroma is huge grassy/citrus hops, with smells of hay, grapefruit, and lemon. There is a big, bready pale malt aroma, and something very perfumy in there, also.
Flavor is big grapefruit, lemons, and grass, perfumy as hell, with a strong bready malt character. The malt is very clean and bright, not caramel-y at all. Hop bitterness is high but well balanced with the malt. Aftertaste is citrus and freshly mown grass. Fantastic.
Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy for its size. Full bodied, with a high level of residual sweetness. Resiny feel on the tongue, mouth puckers from bitterness. Wonderful! Finish is bitter and dries out a little.
One of the best IPA's I've had. Hops are in the spotlight, front and center, but the malt backbone is quite substantial. Highly recommended.
