Upon rumor of Stone having a "Kansas City"-branded bottle on the market here in the last week or so, I went on the search for it, hitting a couple of area liquor stores before finding three cases - I left all but one bottle behind.
Poured from the 22 oz. bottle, noting that we're the "top dog" of BBQ, suggesting that it would pair well with the beer. We'll see about that.
Tiny pocks of tannish head that you can almost tell will lace, throw shadows through the somewhat cloudy golden-orange beer. Picking up some sediment as well.
Piercing with herbal and citrus notes on the nose, filling it with promise of what's to come.
Herbs and greenery on the tongue, spicy too with the hops at the fore. Closes with a hint of carmelization and like a fading light, slowly muting to the tongue.
What an outstandingly good IPA - less citrus than many, but more of the herbs than most, which really turns your tastebuds on their ear.

Light amber to brown in color. A minuscule bit of white head partially covers the top of the beer. A bit hazy with Brussels lacing. Incredibly enticing aroma of pine like hops reminiscent of pineapple greets me. The mouth is a little sticky and the bitterness prickles my tongue. When I take a sip I get a short but sharp burst of pine like hops and then some light malt to back it up. I get a nice gentle bitter fade.
