Poured from 12oz bottle into Waterford crystal pilsner glass

Appearance - Dark golden yellow with some opacity. Creamy coconut-white head a finger thick with good retention and great lacing.

Smell - Strong hops on the nose, citrus and pine predominate, with some earthy malt aroma - weak, but there

Taste - At first, the hops predominate, with a lovely bitter citrus fruit, tropical fruit, and floral flavor bursting through. Touch of pine, and the malt appears in a small way. Then the hops finish their dominance and the malt starts to break through, with big lovely caramel and grain sweetness. Finishes long and dry on the palate with hoppy bitterness. Lovely balance of flavors

Mouthfeel - medium bodied, crisp, a touch creamy and oily. Slightly above average carbonation.

Overall - The King of West Coast IPAs. The hops are perfectly chosen to create a beautiful hop flavor profile that focuses on citrus and tropical fruits, but the malt makes a good showing as well. Perfectly drinkable and never disappoints. Highly recommended

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into appropriately enough, a Stone nonic pint glass. This bottle is about two months before date on label.

A-Hazy yellow, great head and lacing

S-All my favorite IPA features, grapefruit, tropicals, etc. This is almost illegally good

T-Otherworldly. I don't even think I can explain how awesome it is

M-Still recovering from taste....

O-my new favorite IPA

A: bright amber yellow emblematic of quality IPAs. No lacing though.

S: amazing hop goodness. Ahhh!

T: Outstanding. A thorough, balanced representation of the style. More balanced that Firestone Union Jack and Russian River Blind Pig. Actually tastes like a stronger Blind Pig.

M: Decent not amazing.

O: The best most balanced IPA out there. I prefer this to DIPAs so I can have more than one. It's also available everywhere in SF at a good price which is a very good thing.

A month before the best buy date, which I think is too far off, as I think it may have turned already.

A-Semi cloudy yellow, some carbonation, two finger head with some lacing.

S-Earth, pine and grass with a good deal of hops.

T-Lots of dirt, grass, pine, resin end with decent bitterness. Malt bill is present to a larger extent that I'd expect (I think I like my IPAs super duper fresh).

M-Medium bodied, some carbonation, smooth.

O-A really good IPA, I need to try and I find an extremely fresh bottle and give it another whirl.
