12 oz bottle poured into a mug. 6 pack bought at Rouse's in New Orleans for $9.69.

A: Looks like an IPA. Just barely lighter than the Torpedo I had before this. Not much head, but nice rocky bubbles. Pretty Jackson Pollock lacing.

S: Smell is citrus and hops heaven. Absurdly aggressive. One whiff and you know it's a Stone IPA.

T: Classic IPA citrus fruit (esp grapefruit) bitterness first, then a split second of malts, then that loooong hops finish that lingers forever. This isn't necessarily the most complex IPA, but it's incredibly refreshing. It tastes ballsy and great.

M: Very dry. Quenching. Carbonated perfectly.

O: My nomination for best bang for your buck IPA that's available nationally. Appropriate during all seasons, really all the time. An total craft beer classic.

Poured into a tulip, best before for another month...lets do this then.

Pours a chill hazed golden orange with a big pillowy slightly off white head that leaves ridiculous spiderweb lacing as it fades away.

Nose is absurdly floral with hints of grapefruit and tangerine and a beautiful pine backbone to it. Nice orangey characteristics as well. The hops become slightly dank as I lean in for a closer little sniff. Orange pith, grapefruit, pine resin. Damn!

Dank into citrus into floral with a very smooth cereal chill hop finish. Very juicy hop presence on the mid palate. Finish is crisp and bitter but doesn't linger a ton.

Mouthfeel seems just a tad thin to me but it stands up to the hops well enough so it still works.

Overall, I've gotten so distracted by all the west coast ipas since I moved out here I forgot about my ipa roots. Thank you stone.

12 oz bottle, enjoy by date of 05.06.12

appears a golden in color, minimal white head. strong hop aroma- herbal, slightly flowery, a bit piney.

hops dominate the taste too, very minimal malt. spicey. I think it needs some balance. thin body with fairly high carbonation.

overall - nice hop flavors, but in my opinion needs some more malt body.
