I first had this as a single 12 ounce bottle sometime awhile ago. It pours a golden orange with a bright white head. There is usually sediment and it’s always a bit cloudy. The lacing usually doesn't hang around very long. The nose is orange and lemon, and naturally, a hop bomb. Floral and piney as well. Perfect.

The taste gives me grapefruit and pine. It’s straightforward, not terribly complex but delicious. Exactly what a I long for in a west coast IPA. The mouthfeel is a bit drying but leaves you wanting the beer to linger just a bit longer.

This is the beer that got me hooked on IPAs. It was my introduction to a somewhat bitter, dry hopped beer. I blame it for being my gateway beer to all of the other over the top hopped beers. Thanks Stone!

12oz bootle poured into

A: the color is a cloudy golden haze with about a cm of head if poured correctly

S: a refreshing aroma of floral notes and citrus undertones

T: A intense almost piney and grassy nose followed by a more floral after tone. I normally like IPA with a little more depth in terms of their malts, especially IPA with a little more amber malts to them, but the hops are brewed with a very deliberate and unique way that make the beer taste great.

M: This beer left my mouth feeling tingly and content. It had a very refreshing and interestedly well balanced after tone that made me want another sip of that golden nectar.

Overall a great beer. They had a flavor and taste in mind and were definitely able to make that unique and flavorful beer they had wanted.

I have to admit that I was finally convinced to try Stone after reading Mitch Steele's excellent book on IPA's.

This was an IPA I avoided for a long time because I didn't think something so well distributed and available could be any good. Boy was I wrong. Stone never ceases to impress me with their hop levels and just plain drinkability. This has become an IPA I judge other IPA's by.
