Hmm, for a smoked porter, I don't detect any smokiness, but it's still good.

A- Nearly opaque black with a nice frothy head (good retention) and heavy lacing.

S- Smells hoppy, like an IPA, with the porter smell being more in the background.

T- I can taste the hops, so this isn't a typical smoked porter. More hoppy than malty. Thankfully, I've been getting into IPAs lately or else I probably wouldn't like this as much. But it just doesn't taste like a smoked porter. Hoppy finish/aftertaste, too.

M- Not too thick or thin.

Overall, I don't think it's a good representation of the style. IPA lovers would most likely enjoy it if they're trying to branch out to porters and stouts.

Wow am I glad I bought this. Like all stone products, this beer looked awesome. The head wasn't as menacing as, say, Arrogant Bastard, but it left an excellent lace nonetheless. The back of the bottle sums it up nicely..."Amazingly rich, dark, and delicious..."

Pours a dark brown color with a 3 finger tan head with good retention. Smells of chocolate and coffee malt, mild smoke, and some bitter hops. The hops take a back seat to the malt as it always should be with a porter or stout. The sweetness and bitterness of this beer balance each other out beautifully. This is a rich and full bodied porter which is nicely carbonated and easy to drink. I would gladly pick up this beer again. I just wish the smoke was a little stonger.

I poured a bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance- Dark brown color with two fingers worth of tan head. Nice amount of lacing.

Smell- Roasted malt, chocolate, and a hint of hops.

Taste- Roasted malt, smoke, and chocolate. Just a hint of citrus-like hops toward the finish.

Mouthfeel- On the light end of medium bodied. Smooth with a light amount of carbonation.

Overall- Pretty good example of the style. Very enjoyable.

A - Small head with a dark red color and tiny flecks of lacing.

S - A light smoky character over a faint coffee and a mild hop (like kent goldings). Very mild overall.

T - A bit of smoky black patent, faint coffee and a mild woodsy hop. Aftertaste is faintly bitter with a bit of mild woodsy hops and coffee.

M - Medium to thin bodied, smooth and very refreshing.

D - Great! Refreshing and delicious. I will likely have this again sometime.

A - nice deep brown pour with a fluffy finger-sized head

S - beautiful mild smoke aroma. Not overpowering, but a nice mild aroma of smoked almonds, toffee, roasted barley. Absolutely loved this smell.

T - taste kind of loses the smokey aroma but keeps a mild caramel-toffee taste.

M - mouthfeel is really light. Almost no carbonation but real easy drinkability. Each sip goes down really easy.

O - was kinda bummed that the "smoke" taste was not as prevalent as in the nose. But, was very drinkable.

A: Dark brown to black with a slight reddish hint when held up to the light. Sports a huge head which slowly dissipates leaving some lacing on the glass.

S: Smells of wood burning stove in the winter.

M: Smooth mouth feel - with no boozy sense.

T: Some smoke up front but it intensifies and gives a very smokey after taste a few moments later. Very enjoyable - especially as it warms.

O: This is an enjoyable porter that really improves as it warms (patience is not usually my thing - but it is rewarded).

Pours very dark brown. Pillowy beige head with loads of sticky lacing. Looks amazing.

Light mocha and light smoke. Very subtle. Rustic roastiness, but soft. Dark and faintly fruity.

Roasty malts, a touch of smoked grain, and lightly citric hops. Softly malty, with coffee and mocha pulling through. Still maintains some substantial bitterness. The smokiness is a little sweet, like hickory, but not as rich. Sweet in the finish, as well, which makes it an easy 'like'.

Charming mouthfeel. I like the bitterness level on the tongue, because it's still ooey-gooey on the backend. Soft gas promotes a fuller and chewier body. A bomber that never intimidates.

I think this is solid. Needs a bit more, aromatically. Tastes good and feels great. I'll be back.

A great dark pour, very nice muddy-tan head, and an awful lot of carbonation & lacing...the nose was subtle on smoliness i found, more present were some roasted malts & cocoa notes...the taste seemed more stout-like to me, some dark chocolates, roasted malts and rich creaminess...the smokiness creeped in subtley mid-sip and didn't overpower the other nice qualities of this beer....a nice coffee-bean bitterness lingered...mouthfeel was both lively and rich and offered up some creamy texture...great drinkability, complex enough to sit and sip but fresh & lively enough to consume at will...i thought it was well balanced and the subtle smokiness was plenty for this beer

A_Dark brown with a thick white head. Decent lacing.

S_Mostly just roasted barley.Picking up a little smoke.

T_Roasted barley, bittersweet chocolate, vanilla and a hint of smoke. Wouldn't guess this was a smoked beer on a blind taste.

M_Thinner than I expected but nice body.

D_Easily put down a few of these.

The aroma has an ironlike smokiness to it, with hints of citrusy hop. Dark dark brown.

The flavors in some order (changes sip to sip) - citrus hop; an oiliness similar to that found in an oatmeal stout; smoky maltiness; chocolatey maltiness; roasted coffee maltiness. Take the late, lamented Big Indian Porter, subtract some of the malt, add in hops & smoke, and you have this beer. This is NOT a bad thing at all. The finish is very nice - a little sweet, with some smoky-roasty-dry malt overtones.

Very dark pour, when held up to light it reveals mahogany hues. Nice off-white head that stays in it for the long haul. Great lacing, decorating the glass with each sip.
Smells of light smokiness, coffee, maltiness. Tastes of more smokiness, coffee flavors, roasty & toasty, good bbq beer. Mouthfeel is light/medium bodied, good carbonation, and semi-dry finish. Extremely drinkable.

A - Pours a deep brown with a creamy tan head.

S - A hint of smoke and cocoa.

T - The taste is creamy and smooth with just a hint of smoke that lingers through the finish.

M - This is very smooth tasting porter, not too busy, but VERY satisfying.

D - Very easy drinking, which to me means I could drink several of these during a night. I enjoyed my last bottle while enjoying some baby back ribs, which I highly recommend.
