A - Just a little lighter than pure midnight black. A little bit of a reddish hue if you bring the lip of the glass up to the light.

S - Nothing really special here. It smells like a porter... standard notes of coffee, tobacco, and a little bit of smoke.

T - This is where this beer really shines. It's smoky malts dominate the overall profile. Good cocoa, smoke, leather, and all of the tastes one looks for in the Porter style.

M - A little thinner than I prefer, but on par with what's expected. Decent carbonation, and a chewiness that rounds it out nicely.

O - A very good every-occasion porter. It'd be a good way to get someone to graduate past Guinness and into the land of heavier stouts.

a: Brown body with ruby hues, off-white head, good retention and lacing.

s: Smoke and chocolate.

t: Sweet chocolate, smokey malt, toffee, coffee-like bitterness in the finish. Exceptional balance of flavor.

m: Medium to high carbonation, full body, chewy.

d: Balance makes for an easy drinking porter. A very well made smoke beer, the smokiness is definitely there, but it provides a nice addition, rather than being the basis for the brew.

pretty pitch black with a cappuccino head that wasn't poured with a lot of height to begin with, but didn't last long. lacing is great
smell of chocolate malts and a mocha flavor. don't really pick up on a smokey smell really.
and the taste matches the smell. however, i do notice a little smoked taste on this porter. very malty and bitter.
The mouthfeel is a bit creamy, with the carbonation is good.
very drinkable beer.
was my first porter i've ever reviewed, and first smoked porter ever tasted. i enjoyed it.
