A- dark dark brown with a tan head

S- smoke, ash, chocolate.

T- mild dark chocolate flavor, molasses, roasted malt, and smoke. I paired this beer with a coffee crusted bone-in ribeye. It was awesome.

M- this beer is not as thick feeling as I thought it would be. Good carbonation. The smokiness ads a nice kick at the end.

O- I like this beer a lot and since I'm a butcher Stone Smoked Porter has a lot of potential this upcoming grilling season.

Had on tap at the Stone Brewery.

Beer pours a nice rich brown with a bit of tan head on top.

Beer smeels very roasty and chocolatey. Not a great bit of smoke as I would have expected.

The beer tastes like the nose. A nice chocolate taste, with just a slight bit of smoke to add some roasty flavor. Kind of wish there was a bit more smoked, honestly.

The mouthfeel is on the ligher side. Not too thick.

Overall, a nice porter.

For whatever reason, I've never tried this beer. Time to fix that

A: Pours a deep brown bordering on black that leaves a nice 2 finger fluffy tan head that hangs out forever.

S: Nose is strong malt and chocolate tones with some smoke mixed in there. It's pretty muted which is fine by my standards since my fear was this smoked porter would taste like a campfire

T: Charred wood up front mellowing to a nice mellow malt and some dark fruit that finish off with a slight bitterness

M: Very crisp and refreshing - not drying in any way.

O: Wow - this is a solid porter - only thing I wish for the brew was that it was slightly thicker but that's not a problem for this style.

Poured into a pint glass. Reviewed alongside Smuttynose Robust Porter.

A: Clear dark brown with two-finger, off-white, foamy head that lasted several minutes. Good lacing.

S: Smokey malt and hops.

T: Moderate sweetness and moderate bitterness. I taste the hops, but also chocolate and roasted coffee. Licorice and dark fruit.

M: Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Pretty smooth.

O: Excellent American porter. I'm not sure if this is better than the Smuttynose. They are both excellent, and I think I would call this one a tie.
