A: Low carb, not very much head, nice brown. 3.7

S: meaty, smoky, brown notes.

T: very light porter, with a smokey after taste and a slight aftershock hoppyness

M: low carb on the tongue hold, smooth going down.

O: not a bad porter, drinkable and smooth, very light for a smoky beer. I'd give it a 4

Appearance: pours a beautiful ruby red with a medium amount of carbonation. I love the color of this beer reminds me of arrogant Bastard but a little darker plenty of light coming through for a porter.
Aroma: big smoky peat overtones with the coffee and chocolate hiding in the back slight caramel as well.
Taste: follows the nose perfectly, also i slight milk sweetness on the finish.
Mouthfeel: nice medium body with medium carbonation.
Overall: great example of a smoked porter would buy again and can't wait to try the vanilla and chipotle versions

Date: 8/27/14
Location: Half-Time Mamaroneck
Glassware: Snifter

Appearance: The Porter pours black and allowing no light through with a large frothy carmel colored head with extremely good retention. The beer has an amazing cling as well that makes the drink look like time has come to a standstill within the glass.
Aroma: The malts really come through but do not hit me with as smokey a flavor as I imagined. In the malts I get a woodsy flavor with some very small notes of coffee and milk.
Taste: That smoked flavor I was looking for in the aroma I absolutely find in the flavor. As the beer warms, it really hits me on the top of my mouth and the back sides of my tongue. The finish is medium strong coffee.
Mouthfeel: Medium light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. The beer is very wet and smooth when cool but as it warms really develops to a roasted dryness.

Notes: This beer really needs to be given a chance to warm up before it is consumed. All it's great flavors come out in time.
