Poured from a 22oz into a hefeweizen glass. Best before date May 5th, 2011.
A - deep brown, clear brew with a moderate tan head that resolves after a few minutes leaving a fair amount of lacing on the glass.
S - grapefruit hops on top of some toasty malts; after it warms a little some really strong caramel malts come through
T - big powerful flavor with strong citrus hops backed with a big caramel malty profile that give a very slight hint of sweetness at the end in the middle of the enduring bitterness
M - velvety mouthfeel with subtle but abundant carbonation
D - quick drinkable even though it's super-powered; moderate booziness and warming
Obviously a classic and a really, really tasty and complex beer. I prefer this to the Oaked version (though that's pretty decent as well)!
