Appearance: Pours a pretty reddish color with perfect clarity. A tan head starts out big, shrinks to a respectable cap, and leaves lots of lace down the side of the glass.
Smell: Incredible aroma of fresh hops...it's raw, spicy, and pungent with lots of grapefruit and pine. A touch of sweet malt hides deep underneath the hop blitzkrieg.
Taste: This brew has a solid backbone of malt that comes across as caramelly, fruity, and slightly roasted. But that foundation gets beat down by a huge bitchslap of bitter hops. Flavors of pine, citrus, and grapefruit commit 3rd degree assault on my tastebuds, and I love every precious drop! There's a nice dose of alcohol in here as well. The hop flavor turns into a faint, burnt character on the tail end. Amazing...
Mouthfeel: Very full-bodied with a slighty, syrupy mouthfeel. Finishes with a dry edge from the alcohol.
Drinkability: To be honest, I'd love to drink this all night, but I'd really pay the price in the morning. It's so aggressive in flavor, yet so easy to down...that's a scary combination!!
