22 oz bottle with freshness date (about two months away), poured into a SA Perfect Pint
A - Somewhat hazy chestnut brown pour with a thinnish light mocha head; good retention with a semi-loose lace.
S - Caramel malt in the nose with a good hop dose, some toasted aroma and a light fruitiness.
T&M - Caramel flavors stand up to an aggressive and spicy hop assault. Light fruits from the nose follow through in the flavor and carry a bit of an ester edge...alcohol very present, especially the longer one let's this sit. Medium heavy body, and all considered, surprisingly easy to drink...good balance.
O - Somewhat surprised it took me so long to get around to this one...an excellent ale with a heaping helping of malts and hops, and yet it never looses balance. Heavier alcohol present in the flavor, but I dig it...not off putting at all to me.
