PPours a deep amber with a 1 finger off white head. Decent head retention, visible carbonation. Smells of sweet caramel malts with a citric hop presence on the back end. Lots of sweet malts up front, some biscuit and caramel. Hops take over quickly though and aggressively, with a minty ester presence. Medium to full in body with a chewy grainy presence. Very dry finish with big bitterness. Delicately floral flavors are present for such an arrogant beer.
Liked this beer more than I though I would (went into not wanting to like it cause of its cult following) but it is rather decent and stands out amongst the crowd slightly.
Does it stand out from other stone ales though? That's another question.
