This is by far the best bottle artwork I have ever come across.
Pours dark brown with red/copper highlights. In the middle of pouring the head seemed to erupt suddenly into a 2 inch off-white/light tan head.
Citrus, pine, and grapefruit hops followed by syrupy caramel malts in the background.
The taste was a welcome surprise. The bitterness attacks the tongue. While I have no complaints about the smell...the taste is much more exciting. Roasted malt, caramel sweetness, a touch of vanilla, citrus and all-out bitter hops. The flavor envelopes my entire mouth. It's almost like I have gained extra taste buds.
The mouthfeel is crisp but full-bodied. Again, the flavor fills my entire mouth. It also seems to have one of the longest finishes I have had in a beer in quite a while. It seems as if perhaps the taste may never leave my mouth.
It's hard for me to rate drinkability. Most beers with this much flavor tend to have a lot more alcohol. The huge amount of bitter hops and malts might hinder the drinkability, but I'm drinking it slow mostly to make this experience last longer.
