Dark amber in color. This pint had very minimal tan head. A better head and appearance would have scored 4.5.
Nice aroma mostly of floral hops. Malts and fruitiness underneath.

Nice level of bitterness to the taste. Big, sweet malt backbone with a toasty, caramel character. Floral hops chime in nicely. I'm torn between giving the taste a 4.0 or 4.5. Depends on my mood I guess. Sometimes I really enjoy this beer, while sometimes I think the taste is a bit too bitter.

Good mouthfeel. Plenty of body.
Good drinkability.

Overall, a good beer with lots of character. I'm puzzled why I hadn't managed to review this one on BA yet.

The bottle was pretty badass, the info on the back made me laugh like an idtiot.

It poured a nice deep ruby red with a thick head that retained nicely and left a lacing residue on the glass.

Smelled very hoppy, vaguely funky.

The taste was interesting, difficult to describe, but interesting. The hops hit heavy first, tasted like a blend of hops; a slight bite hit the mouth, and the alcohol was a bit strong. The more I drank of it, the better it tasted, a bit sweet perhaps, but not overly so. There's a lot of depth in the taste of this one.

Smooth in the mouth, rolls nicely over the tongue.

Very drinkable despite the strong presence of alcohol.

Beautiful and rich amber mahogany with a slightly tan head.

Nose is a bit piney and grapefruity with caramel malt.

Oily and smooth mouthfeel. Very bitter at the end. Tastes of caramel malt, bitter grapefruit and blood orange. Smokiness to it with a bit of vanilla.

A lesser brewery might try to catch your attention and call this a mahogany IPA or an Amber IPA; because it is bitter and really showcases the hops and the malt. Not Stone, though.

This beer is amber in color with some extreme red notes. One of the reddest beers Ive ever seen. Small khaki head layers the top of the glass.

The nose is very piney and citrusy. Awesome hop aroma.

A thrashing amount of citrus and bittersweet hops make for quite a bold taste. Earthy, piney, resiny. A welcomed kick in the palate with this ale.

The mouthfeel is soft and creamy, yet still decently carbonated.

The drinkability is decent, but the heavy flavor would make it difficult to enjoy several of these.

On- Tap...Pint Glass....

A- Dark amber-brown- darker than usual but still brown. Huge head-tons of lacing, lasted throughout the glass.

S- Tons of hops- dried fruits- raisins

T- Holy mother of hops- intense flavor- never lost any speed- some citrus- some oak.

M- Smooth and silky on my tongue- some burning on my throat.

D- 7.2% not bad- after one glass I was feeling it already- not for the faint at heart.

So complex, so hoppy, and so good. This is a true classic.

One of the best.

Finally got to try this hyped beer. Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm.

A: Ruby red with a thin lace.

S: Caramel malt and plenty of hops.

T: Wow! Liqorice, bread, chocolate, spring flowers and hops.

M: Smooth with medium carbonation and tiny bubbles.

It's easy to understand why this beer have so high ratings on this site. It is a very complex ale with dipa-characteristics. It is not an easy drink tho, one glass was more than enough :) A sipper for sure! Recommended!

I tried this beer during a beer tasting session in the Mug (a pub in Middelburg, The Netherlands).

A - A nice clear red fluid with a white/pink head. No visible carbonation.

S - Fruity and flowery hops, a light malt scent and sweet.

T - Extreme hoppy, to much for my liking. Light sweet upfront and (surprisingly) not to bitter in the finish.

M - Light to medium carbonation

O - A good beer, but to hoppy to my taste. It causes a lingering aftertaste.
