I was very surpised to find a 22oz bottle of this at Geers for € 5,- can't beat that.

Poured into a pint glass.

It's a beauty. Nice red to brown color. Comes with a nice cappuccino style head.

The smell reminds me of a West Coast IPA. Citrus, pine but with added caramel.

In your face flavors. Hop all over the place but also dark malts and a wee bit of citrus.

Nice medium body with a decent amount of carbonation and a rather dry finish. Bitter flavors will linger for a while.

I love the Arrogant bastard. It's a stong ale with lots of character and closely related to the West Coast IPA. For € 5,- a bottle a steal. I'd easly pay € 7.50 just don't tell the good people at Geers.

Poured from a bomber into an imperial pint glass...

S - Signature Stone aroma. Citrus and grapefruit from West coast hops. As it warms, a malty sweetness emerges.

A - Two-finger tan head. Deep reddish-brown, iced-tea color. Slight haze. Delicate sticky lacing.

T - Impressive but not overbearing bitterness upfront. Citrus, pine, grapefruit rind hop flavor follows and a subtle maltiness protrudes in the middle. Sweetness increases as the beer warms. Finishes lightly burnt with a mild roasty quality and lingering hop bitterness. Slight detection of alcohol with warmth. Balance trends more to the hops, but malt profile is well represented especially as it warms.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

O - Not sure why it took me so long to rate this, but I basically concur with all that has been said in the past. This is a stellar beer and one of my favorites. Certainly deserves its Arrogance.

22oz bottle into tulip snifter.
best by: 12/18/11

Pours a clear, dark amber red with a frothy light toffee colored head that leaves a nice lacing.

The aroma is of piney, slightly resinous hops upfront followed quickly by a caramel malt backbone, though the pine is definitely foremost.

Follows the nose fairly well, though the hops are more prominent in the taste than the aroma.

The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with prickly, fairly active carbonation.

A decent and enjoyable beer, though nothing overtly special.
