Poured from 22oz bottle into an overly cold chilled shaker pint glass.
A: Pours a dark straw amber (dark lighting in the restaurant, so could be off here) with thin tan head. A more aggressive pour can generate a 4+ inch head. Some lacing.
S: Smooth caramel malt, toffee and dark plum.
T: Follows and adds to the aroma with a nice balancing of citrus and pine hops.
M: Smooth and slightly oily with a spicy hop bite. Medium body.
D: Excellent drinkability. Great brew for style. An everyday drinker.

22 oz bomber poured into a pint glass

A - Clean and slightly hazy deep brown-amber with a beautiful two finger mahogany head. Moderate lacing.

S - Caramel wheat bread scent predominates with hoppy pine and citrus smells with great balance.

T - Caramel wheat backbone but a full palate pleasant bitterness with sweet bread and citrus hop notes. A well balance alcohol flavor as well.

M - Medium body, medium carbonation with just a bit of grit but it is nice.

O - Very nice balanced beer, I will drink this almost any day.

A: A Rudy reddish brown with a two finger head that lasts.

S: A little dull but has hops, caramel, and a touch of malt.

T: Very powerful. The caramel is intense followed by the bitter of hops.

M: Good carbonation and excellent retention.

O: If you have not had this beer then you have not had an American Strong Ale.

Poured from an undated bomber, as far as I could tell, to a pint glass.

A - The beer pours a dark red almost brown mahogany color with dark red edges in the light with a thin 1 finger tan/light brown colored head with some retention and lacing. Not as much head as I would have expected.

S - An interesting aroma with a strong caramel malt character together with a very nice blend of citrusy aromas. A faint bread quality but a nice blend between citrus and malt.

T - Very good flavor, very good. The nice blend between malt and citrus hop flavor found on the nose but amplified and well balanced. A medium bitterness. Hides the alcohol very well behind the sweet caramel malts and hop bitterness and citrus flavors.

M - Medium to full bodied with good carbonation.

O - A very good beer. I highly recommend it. A lovely blend between malt and hop. Outstanding.

Note: This review was a re-post from my former account, jmkratt, which was hacked and I lost all my reviews...sorry for the redundancy.
