Nice medium brown amber color. 2 finger head and great lacing. The aroma is hoppy with a rich caramel nutty tone. Dark fruit rings through as well. The flavor is somewhat extreme but well balanced. The strong hop bitterness mixes well with a sweet malty caramel that sticks to your mouth. It is finished by a somewhat strong alcoholic kick. It gets better as you let it settle towards cellar temperatures.  This is a great American Strong Ale.

Burgundy colored body under a tan head. Head holds really nicely for a a high ABV beer. Laces the glass with every sip. No yeast on bottom of bottle (no aging required). Smells like piney hops and caramel malt. A clean yeast aroma comes through as well. Tastes bitter - sweet, both really intense flavors and work pretty well together. sip ends with a solid blast of alcohol. Tastes like Chinook hops and Northern Brewer hops to me. Almost resinous from hops, and yet a malt dominant flavor. Pretty unique and awesome beer. Used to be a staple of mine in college days.

This beer pours a deep orange to red with an inch of head that laces nicely.

Smells of caramel malts with piney earthy notes and slight alcohol tinge.

The taste is of caramel malt and piney hoppiness the lasts for weeks, awesome.

This beer is smooth with a slight alcohol burn.

This beer is very nice I really enjoy this beer and its hoppy character.
