Pours a nice dark honey color with a great big head. The head is frothy and goes away fairly slowly, leaving nice lacing.

On the nose the hops stand out a lot, as expected, hah. There's a tiny bit of fruitiness coming out too. Nicely fruity and floral.

Like the smell, the taste is dominated by hops, with the fruit coming in the middle to give it some nice sweetness, and then a slightly malty finish.

I'm honestly surprised at the fruits that come through, I figured the bitter hops would just overpower everything.

Overall the beer looks great, smells great, and tastes great!

A-Poured into a snifter. Color is a clear, deep reddish brown with a three inch foamy head that slowly dissipated to half an inch with a slight crown in the middle and good lacing. Beautiful appearance.

S-Very subtle, some malt and then mild hops. I'm not getting much hops at all with this which is probably ok for the style.

T-Slight sweetness up front gives way to malty coffee notes. Slightly bitter which I like.

M-Medium body with surprisingly gentle carbonation considering the foamy head.

O-A well made amber ale. For a strong ale, the alcohol is not dominant. I enjoyed reading the description on the bottle almost as much as drinking the beer. Can't beat the price for this quality.

Drunk'd out of a "Casablanca" pint glass, while watching the Patrick Stewart version of MACBETH. So, I THINK I know what I'm talking about here.

A: Ruby. Or amethyst. Or onyx? Maybe topaz. I don't know my gemstones very well.

S: Not unlike the smell of blackened swordfish braised in lemon juice on a mid-October's morn in a small South Carolinian port-side villa. Oh, wait, did I say not UNLIKE? Oh, okay, no. It doesn't smell like that. More grassy. WAY less swordfish (like, hardly any).

T: Imagine if your mom punched a new-born kitten on Christmas Eve, and your Dad was like, "Holy crap, Marg, this beer has clean, refreshing start with an inviting hoppy bitterness toward the end." That would be a REALLY shitty Christmas, I bet.

M: It's...liquidy? Also hardly any fishiness at all here.

O: If I had to choose between Arrogant Bastard Ale and having a colonoscopy, I would almost ALWAYS go with Arrogant Bastard Ale. (Rare exception, Dr. Pete Sizemore, Chicago, IL. Hand warmer. Power dryer. EXQUISITE dr/patient relations.)

Amber color pour. An off white head that was very thick. Some great, lacing that sticks.Smell of caramel, malts, and hops. The flavor was dark fruit, malty and little piny with the sweetness of caramel to round it out. A very bold beer with a lot going on but very easy to drink and enjoy. A well done brew!

On tap at Ignite!

A: Reddish brown color with a thin tan head.

S: Big malty aroma with some citrus hops and a good amount of resin.

T: I started out loving this beer, then I hated it, and now I'm back to liking it again. Big, chewy malt throughout, citrus hop resin and a good amount of booze.

Poured into the glass dark red/brown colour with foamy tan head which quickly settles down.

Smells of malts and citrus hops. There's grapefruits and pine needles.

Tastes strong with big hops and malts coming through. Almost tastes like an IPA, it is hoppy but nicely balanced.

Smooth with a light amount of carbonation.

Overall this is a very good ale, very strong and very tasty. Has a big flavour and at $5 for a 22oz bottle a very good price.

22oz bottle.
A: a nice dark gold color with a goldish white head.
S: very hoppy like an ipa. light malt lingers with the hoppy smell.
T: very very hopppy for an ale. i would say its an aggressive strong ale. maybe some caramel.
M: lots of carb but easy on the palate. very drinkable.
O: i really would consider this a double ipa. otherwise a solid beer!
