500ml bottle into snifter.

A: Pours golden wit a cap of greasy bright white frothy head that faded into a thick and greasy film. A complex network of sticky lacing was left down the glass.
S: Soapy smelling with notes of shampoo and faded ruination and hops. Smells like old homebrew. Dirty and earthy overall, without much bourbon.
T: Potent and boozy flavors of very mild whisky and c-hops. Pine and faded citrus are noticeable. The beer is no longer bitter, nor boozy, but it's also a bit astringent. Tastes like muted hops with a hint of bourbon.
M: Greasy medium-full body, sharp, low carbonation, smooth and slightly astringent and bitter.
O: Despite the above this was better then I expected, but it's not something that I would drink again.

Had a 22 oz glass on tap at San Diego Airport. Good color, 1.5" head, great lacing. One thing I always worry about beer aged in bourbon barrels is that the whiskey flavor overrules everything. Not so with Ruination IPA. Fantastic flavor, with caramel and citrus overtones and the back end is the bourbon, but not overpowering. Overall 4.5/5.

500ml bottle in a snifter

Really nice and clean beer. The bourbon flavor is bold but subdued by the hoppy bitterness. The relatively low alcohol content allows all the flavors to manifest themselves beautifully.

Color: The color is a gorgeous golden hue. you can see the bourbon in the beer.

Nose: nose is underwhelming and unexpectedly delicate. but a sweet bourbony corn scent comes through.

Taste: taste is much high that this is rated. Its so sweet with a great hint of bourbon and a final bite of very tannic columbus hops. Its so light and drinkable its insane. no need to let this guy warm up, I could drink it cold and drink it all day. This is your everyday everyman bourbon ipa. its a must try if you love stone

Thanks to rudzud for sharing.

Over carbonated pour, 3 finger fizzy fluffy head, lots of lacing at least, crystal clear orange honey colored.

Nose is mixed, a big sweet candy malt, reddish caramel toffee candy, little citrus fruity hop but barely, some barrel esters, a slight mineral like aroma with mild tannins. Little stone fruit, light bourbon and buttery oak.

Taste again candy like, sweet syrupy caramel and reddish candy, little buttery toffee, Mild barrel with little bourbon and buttery oak, mild woody esters. Hops are light, fair bitterness and hint of citrus and fruit, but very little hop, little earthy grassy, touch spicy. Finish is drier but little sticky, little thin like, more bitterness but no real hops, hint of syrupy sweet malts.

Mouth is med bod but feels a bit light, over carbonated, hint of warming booze.

Overall meh, hops are just about gone, not very present at all, bourbon is there but not in the best way, way too carbonated too, just poorly done.

Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a crystal clear honey hue with a far too carbonated the finger head that leaves clunky lacing and a sudsy blanket.

S - Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, super faint hops. Where is the ruination?!

T - Taste is so carbonated that it really hurts it. It's boozy, bourbon, vanilla, bitter faint citrus on the finish, the bourbon is solid, but the ipa is hardly noticeable. Incredible shame.

M - Mouthfeel is far too carbonated for the style, distracts incredibly.

O - Overall I was incredibly let down by this beer, just way too carbonated and with no ruination...failure.
