Appearance: medium orange/yellow, with a bear white half finger of head.
Aroma: spices, yeast, musk, vinous notes.
Taste: yeasty, with a more pronounced barrel and wine note, finishing with a spicy ester.
Mouthfeel: medium or better body, creamy, a bit under carbonated than I like for the style.
Overall: good in its own right, but certainly not overly impressed.

On tap at Instant Replay in Canoga Park, CA.
Pours a murky light honey orange with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, white wine, and tropical fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with fermented tropical fruit and white wine flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of woody bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty but very much like a fruity wine.

Cask @ The Daily Pint. Reviewed from notes.
A: Pours a hazy murky orange with 1/2" white head which leaves spots of lace.
N: Estery and pineapple, very fruity, guava is faint as is the vinous aspect.
T: Straight up pineapple saison with peppery spice, herbal/grass, and a tad vinous from the barrel aging. Notice some mild citrus hops also.
M: Semi-moderate body and carbonation. Fruity and dry/dusty finish. Slightly weird aftertaste like acetone, but must be from the pineapple and white wine combination.
O: Very unique. Stone's base is their first saison. The citrus hops seem to shift this towards an IPA, but the saison yeast centers it. The pineapple especially, and guava less so, add a tropical element. Probably not for everyone. Worth a try if you ever see this one.
