Enjoy by date of September 23rd. Drank August 28th.
Poured from 22oz bottle into an IPA glass.
A - Orange/amber color. Clear/no sediment. Distinct lines of carbonation. Modest head. Beautiful lacing as on the sides of the glass as the beer was consumed.
S - Very nice. Pine, citrus, tropical fruit, and then some grapefruit rind as the beer warmed.
T - Initial impressions are citrus, toasted malts, and a slight hint of tropical flavors and coconut. Strong, yet pleasant dose of hops. Bitterness lasts long after the beer is swallowed, much like a Ruination. As the beer warms, the alcohol starts to become more noticeable, but in a pleasant way, as well as a stronger grapefruit rind flavor.
M - Very nice. Crisp yet not to dry. Carbonation well balanced. Slightly foams in your mouth.
O - Love this beer. Reminds me of Ruination with a slightly different twist. At the time of this review, the beer scored an 84 with <600 reviews. I assume that it has received a lower review because buyers expected more coconut. While I agree that the coconut was not a dominant player in the flavor of the beer, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bottom line: if it did not have the word "coconut" in the title, I expect the score would have been higher. This is a wonderful beer and I hope to see more of it in the future.
