Stone emblazened 22 oz. bomber served up into a globe glass. First thing I notice is that this brew has the same ABV as Ruination, we'll see if that commonality arises again.
Pours is clear and deep golden in color, perhaps a hint of amber in there. Pillowy off white cap drops off some lace as a light boil emanats from the bottom of the glass. Retenion is decent but not overwhelming by any means. And since when is a 4.0 'Outstanding'? Don't change for you and don't change a thing, for me.
Aroma is hop forward with citrus and tropical notes, some dried fruit and is rounded out but a faint coconut creamy nature which seems to confuse the nose on a long inhalation. A fresh breath resurrects the hops to creamy cycle.
Flavor is smooth with a neutral malt base and a firm coconut flavor from mid palate on through the finish with a lingering close. Coconut is much more pronounced than expected after reading a few earlier reviews. Mouthfeel is soft, creamy and belies the the heft of the ABV. Nice level of carbonation which doesn't drown out the coconut creaminess. Finish is dry and somewhat chalky with a notable coconut presence, yet without a strong bitterness. It seems the coconut balances that out if this brew truly sports 90 IBU's.
Easy drinking 7.70% IPA, at least for one bottle that is. Lacks the harsh bitterness of the aforementioned Ruination and adds some unique flavors.
