From the cellar into my snifter...
This one has a totally transparent, shining golden-honey hue and a kinda fizzy, one-finger white head.
The smell is one of honey, sweet lemons, and oranges. These things dominate. However, there's also a little fragrant pine, and some robust hops too. 's good.
A sip takes me through a spectrum of hoppiness... First is that familiar, tangy citrus kick, followed by honeyed biscuit maltiness, and wrapped up with a bready kind of noble hop aftertaste. A lingering orange-peel bitterness remains too. Wonderful.
The feel is fairly full, and favorable for the flavor.
This may have been brewed with a bunch of German hops not normally used for the style, but I really don't find it THAT much different from Stone's other DIPAs. Anyway, it's solid to say the least.
