Transparent amber color with a finger of fluffy white head that retains for days. This is a beer you can smell from a couple feet away -- the grapefruit is definitely there but I also get some tangerine, orange, lime, and sweet malt. The taste is super bitter all the way down with strong notes of grapefruit peel and lemon peel, a dry malt backbone, hop resin, and some sweeter tropical citrus to provide the only semblance of balance. This is a massively bitter beer, but I can't knock it since its main selling point is that it's brewed with grapefruit peels. It succeeds at what it set out to do.

As would be appropriate, this has a pink grapefruit color with a cloudy fresh squeezed hue. The head was fizzy and white but held its shape well.
The nose has tremendous grapefruit qualities but it's a combination of juice, pith and hop.
The flavor starts with a nice grapefruit juice and grapefruit hop flavor but the finish is a deeply herbal hop flavor. The hop flavors near the end remind me of so many Stone products with an earthy, grassy, chivey and dank quality.
The feel is quite tangy and light but does have a strong astringency.
This tastes like an IPA made by Stone with grapefruit juice, which is exactly what it is.
