Pours a nice fizzy slight foamy 1/2 finger head that fades at a med pace but is reinforced by streaming bubbles from the bottom, nice soapy lacing, crystal clear honey orange color.

Nose brings nice hops, citrus, little grapefruit, some citrus zest and candied orange peel, hint of stone fruit as well, little juicy orange, as well as a candy malt base with some perceived sweetness and a hint of booze.

Taste comes on a bit sweet at first with a little candy malt, but that's quickly washed over but hops and grapefruit peel, a strong grapefruit peel flavor with bitter rind, little juicy grapefruit bursting juice packet, and a little orange rind and candied orange, mild clementine and even a bit of a spicy chewy hop profile. It's quite bitter and continues to increase the bitterness as it goes but eventually plateaus to the same as biting a grapefruit rind essentially. Then some mild alcohol with the sweet malts, it attempts to hide it but it shines through. Finish is super bitter chewy spicy hop profile with more grapefruit rind and orange peel zest bitterness, fairly dry but a hint of candy like malt lingering.

Mouth is med bod, nice carb, a bit of warming booze.

Overall not bad, nice big bitter IPA with a decent malt balance that gets a little sweet, the bitterness really ramps, but everything balances out pretty well in the end. The grapefruit rind comes through quite a bit and blends nicely with the hops. Enjoyable and tasty.

22 oz bottle. Pours clear golden orange with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sugary bready malts and tropical fruit / grapefruit.

The flavor is a little sweet fruity bready malt followed by a pretty big resiny bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with light carbonation.

Overall, a nice IPA, but not as good as I thought it sounded.

Bottle share at Proof done side-by-side with Proof's Guru IPA blended with Apollo aged on grapefruit. Pale straw in color with very little head. Big grapefruit and orange citrus with some tropical fruit in the aroma. Taste is spicy/citrus combo with a fair malt backbone. High carbonation (despite little head) and medium body. I enjoyed the Proof considerably more.

22oz brown bomber with a freshness date.

Stunningly tight and sticky lacing on top of this hazed out pale amber brew. Big bag of smashed grapefruits rush the nostrils, hints of alcohol and hops within. My palate is simply being abused by the onslaught of grapefruit and hops, the alcohol is clean and quite warming. Some light bready tones underneath but the finish is just more lingering grapefruit and hops.

Slam? This is a Smackdown, thanks Stone for this one and keeping things fun.
