A little on the lighter side, shading-wise. A nice amber-ing in the center, though. Not quite hazy. Good little white head, but it doesn't stick around. Good lacing.

That's more like it...
The aroma jumps straightaway into fruity hops, a little yeast, and more hops. Citrus, some sticky sweetness and a bit of breadiness underneath it all, which is probably where the yeast character comes from.

This starts off well balanced with a deceptively syrup sweet intro, but quickly gives up the facade and hammers down the citrus peel and hops. The grapefruit rind is very prevalent, both in flavour and mouthfeel. That pithy cloying bitterness, with a touch of pine peeking out from behind... this is an aptly titled beverage. There's a hint of florality somewhere in there as well. That grapefruit rind sure does like to hang out after eveyone else has left the party.
If you really enjoy high acidity, punishingly bitter citrus rinds, you will really enjoy this one. I'm not as enthusiastic about this profile, but can recognize a good beer when I drink one. I enjoyed this one, and am glad I grabbed it, but there will be those for whom this hits the spot moreso than myself. (1,176 characters)

22 oz bottle. Pours clear golden orange with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sugary bready malts and tropical fruit / grapefruit.

The flavor is a little sweet fruity bready malt followed by a pretty big resiny bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with light carbonation.

Overall, a nice IPA, but not as good as I thought it sounded. (388 characters)

Bottle share at Proof done side-by-side with Proof's Guru IPA blended with Apollo aged on grapefruit. Pale straw in color with very little head. Big grapefruit and orange citrus with some tropical fruit in the aroma. Taste is spicy/citrus combo with a fair malt backbone. High carbonation (despite little head) and medium body. I enjoyed the Proof considerably more. (366 characters)

22oz brown bomber with a freshness date.

Stunningly tight and sticky lacing on top of this hazed out pale amber brew. Big bag of smashed grapefruits rush the nostrils, hints of alcohol and hops within. My palate is simply being abused by the onslaught of grapefruit and hops, the alcohol is clean and quite warming. Some light bready tones underneath but the finish is just more lingering grapefruit and hops.

Slam? This is a Smackdown, thanks Stone for this one and keeping things fun. (489 characters)
