A little on the lighter side, shading-wise. A nice amber-ing in the center, though. Not quite hazy. Good little white head, but it doesn't stick around. Good lacing.
That's more like it...
The aroma jumps straightaway into fruity hops, a little yeast, and more hops. Citrus, some sticky sweetness and a bit of breadiness underneath it all, which is probably where the yeast character comes from.
This starts off well balanced with a deceptively syrup sweet intro, but quickly gives up the facade and hammers down the citrus peel and hops. The grapefruit rind is very prevalent, both in flavour and mouthfeel. That pithy cloying bitterness, with a touch of pine peeking out from behind... this is an aptly titled beverage. There's a hint of florality somewhere in there as well. That grapefruit rind sure does like to hang out after eveyone else has left the party.
If you really enjoy high acidity, punishingly bitter citrus rinds, you will really enjoy this one. I'm not as enthusiastic about this profile, but can recognize a good beer when I drink one. I enjoyed this one, and am glad I grabbed it, but there will be those for whom this hits the spot moreso than myself.
