Love the name, the "grapefruit slam" part, not the "stochasticity."

A - Three plus fingers wroth of slightly late to develop peach hued active assertive head comprised of loads of big chunky bubbles... Awesome retention... A slight bit of moderate paced carbonation throughout... The color is a mix of equal parts pale gold and pale copper... Gobs of sticky lacing clings to the sides of the glass...

S - Not nearly as assertive as I would have expected... Subdued grapefruit... Orange zest... Pineapple... Mango... A light candied sugar sweetness permeates... There is a slight muskiness as well... Not bad by any means, just a bit understated, especially given the name...

T - Starts with a bit of candied sugar sweetness... A light earthy character... Orange zest and a kiss of light grapefruit... Then POW!!! This one smacks you square in the face as the grapefruit character crescendos and intensifies to epic levels on the finish... Overall, this one seems to be a tad less than the sum of its parts...

M - Sturdy... Medium bodied... A bit juicy to start... Finishes very dry once the grapefruit character takes the reigns... Limited carbonation...

D - An enjoyable and rather unique brew... However, this one pales in comparison to its Stone Brethren (Ruinten and Enjoy By)... Recommend for Stone and IPA fans, but not quite a must try for all...

22 oz bottle. Pours clear golden orange with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sugary bready malts and tropical fruit / grapefruit.

The flavor is a little sweet fruity bready malt followed by a pretty big resiny bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with light carbonation.

Overall, a nice IPA, but not as good as I thought it sounded.

Bottle share at Proof done side-by-side with Proof's Guru IPA blended with Apollo aged on grapefruit. Pale straw in color with very little head. Big grapefruit and orange citrus with some tropical fruit in the aroma. Taste is spicy/citrus combo with a fair malt backbone. High carbonation (despite little head) and medium body. I enjoyed the Proof considerably more.

22oz brown bomber with a freshness date.

Stunningly tight and sticky lacing on top of this hazed out pale amber brew. Big bag of smashed grapefruits rush the nostrils, hints of alcohol and hops within. My palate is simply being abused by the onslaught of grapefruit and hops, the alcohol is clean and quite warming. Some light bready tones underneath but the finish is just more lingering grapefruit and hops.

Slam? This is a Smackdown, thanks Stone for this one and keeping things fun.
