A - Deep orange gold. White head pours about a finger high with nice retention and ok lace.
S - Woody bitters, wet plants, and a soft grapefruit citrus.
T - Bold citrus pith and bitter resin overwhelms the brew. The wet plant note from the nose comes through in the taste, and detracts from the quality of the bitterness and the otherwise really nice caramel, honey, and white raisin backdrop. Sharp bitter citrus finish.
M - Smooth, medium-full body, but a lack of carbonation and a raw resin feel detract from the rest of the beer.
O - The grapefruit rind adds more raw bitterness than flavor character. Poor balance and integration.
