Bottled 01.29.14. Enjoyed 03.11.14. 22oz bomber into a DFH signature glass.

A - Golden Amber, very clear and clean. Thin cream colored head, disappears fairly rapidly. Minimal lacing.

S - Deceiving slightly? Smells maltier than it tastes in my opinion. Grapefruit is definitely there too, but it smells smoother than it is.

T - Nice big bitter bite right off the top. Love the kick from the rind. Grapefruit, of course, but way less juice and more kick. Personally I dig it, but I can see where some might not. Varies some with warmth. Since it came out of a 22oz, I had a couple of pours. More or less straight from the fridge the bitter was way more prevalent than grapefruit. Maybe just a smidge of pine/grass. Everything blossoms a little more as it gets warmer though. Comes into a nice citrusy (yet earthy?) tartness overall.

M - Really nice. Fills without being thick, lingers just enough. Brief bite on the tongue on the back end, but not overwhelming.

O - Very much enjoyed. Stone tends to generally do right by me and this is no exception. Would definitely drink it again. (1,088 characters)

22 oz bottle. Pours clear golden orange with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sugary bready malts and tropical fruit / grapefruit.

The flavor is a little sweet fruity bready malt followed by a pretty big resiny bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with light carbonation.

Overall, a nice IPA, but not as good as I thought it sounded. (388 characters)

Bottle share at Proof done side-by-side with Proof's Guru IPA blended with Apollo aged on grapefruit. Pale straw in color with very little head. Big grapefruit and orange citrus with some tropical fruit in the aroma. Taste is spicy/citrus combo with a fair malt backbone. High carbonation (despite little head) and medium body. I enjoyed the Proof considerably more. (366 characters)

22oz brown bomber with a freshness date.

Stunningly tight and sticky lacing on top of this hazed out pale amber brew. Big bag of smashed grapefruits rush the nostrils, hints of alcohol and hops within. My palate is simply being abused by the onslaught of grapefruit and hops, the alcohol is clean and quite warming. Some light bready tones underneath but the finish is just more lingering grapefruit and hops.

Slam? This is a Smackdown, thanks Stone for this one and keeping things fun. (489 characters)
