Man... I find it difficult speaking ill of Stone, but the last few experiences pushed me over the edge.

Staff- I get the whole "arrogant bastard" marketing vibe of Stone, but arrogant, snobby 18 year old hostesses, waiters, and waitresses is enough for me to not drive the extra 20 miles, and stop short at Pizza Port where I'll spend half the money for double the food and drink.

Food- You get a little food, for a lot of money. Some dishes are better than others, the buffalo burger is great, tempeh shepherd's pie was delicious, but most of the entrees fall flat, and the portions are tiny. Not worth the money, and certainly not worth the drive.

Beer- This is the only reason I would ever stop here again. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Stone fan, this isn't a critique of the brand, but the bistro. They have a huge bottle offering, great tap selection, and they often tap aged, and variations of their beers. You cant beat this beer selection

Did I mention how obnoxious the hostesses are?

The facility is gorgeous, they've got a great tour, and the garden is beautiful. I would encourage every Stone fan to make their pilgrimage and pay their respects to the gods, but I personally don't see myself making a 40 mile drive to Escondido anytime soon.

We just visited their place in Escondido a couple weeks ago and, overall, it was a very good experience. Loved the architecture of the building and the design of the gardens. Obviously superb brews and the food was very good too. Service was decent, but not outstanding. I would have given the Vibe a 4.75 or 5, except for the 2 areas of old vomit we encountered in the gardens...one of which was on a rock which my wife accidently leaned against. Yeah...not cool.

This place is amazing. I'm not a huge fan of Stone's beers, don't hate them just think they are good to try and move on. But I was encouraged to stop here and thank god I did. It's a bit of a hike out of the city, but totally worth it. The beer garden was amazing. Lots of chairs around the grounds to chill out in, some artificial turf to lay on and have a beer. A nice pond throughout with fish, frogs and turtles. Was there on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed but still awesome. Went back on a Sunday night and it was cool with the fireplaces going and the lights on. Also, their experimental Mocha IPA was the best beer I had in San Diego (and I hit Alesmith, Toolbox, Modern Times, Port, Lost Abby, Ballast Point & Alpine).

Got there when they opened @ 11 am but there is no signage to tell you that you are in the right place. Once inside they have a nice bar and eating area where they serve excellent food to go with some excellent beer. There is also a deck area where you can eat outside. Beyond the outside eating area is a garden area. After an excellent meal and beers we spent time in the garden by the small waterfall and took in some sun while waiting for the 2 pm instead of rushing into the 12pm tour. The tour costs $5 and runs 12,2,4,6pm. We enjoyed seeing and hearing about how Stone operates and has evolved. At the the end was a sampling of four beers: Stone to go, Pale Ale 2.0, Cali-Belgique, and Smoked Porter. We got to keep the sample glass. Worth the effort to get there.

Finally was able to visit during a trip to California and it was totally worth the wait. Its easy to find but there was no giant sign outside like I expected. Showed up for a lunch before a 2pm tour and it was a great decision.

I was able to sit outside and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. Nice stone tables through the eating area with a bar area off to the side. Nice and peaceful outside with a good mix of customers and great customer service.

The food was really good, check out the Crime and Punishment preztels

The bar area is nice with a lot of "other" beers on tap besides there own which is nice to see. They had a few special beers on brewed by the staff and since it was Monday they were all available. All of their beers were spot on. The GoTo IPA was obviously the freshest I have had and was simply off the charts.

The Tour was good, the guide talked about the process and showed us 2 areas of the main building. They bashed Ballast Point a little bit for being sellouts and answered a lot of questions. The tour ended with 4-5 tasters and was definitely worth the time.

I highly recommend visiting Stone Brewery and Gardens, check out everything you can there. Besides there beers being amazing the place is great. Cheers!
