Stone brewing; who would've thought that stone decor would be all over the place? overall the establishment takes on a rustic warehouse aesthetic with an eastern flavor and ambiance. the brewpub has 30 foot ceilings and open onto the beer garden outside with seating throughout.

atmosphere is laid back and similar to a winery in attitude. the space itself in entered from one end, with the bar straight ahead and a second level of seating in back, above the kitchen and restrooms. the patio and beer garden are to the right. the seating spills outside, with canvas umbrellas and trees providing shade.

service is friendly and prompt and quality is great. the waitstaff seems to know about beer, even if it is only about Stone brews. all beers are served in the proper clean glassware with many options and very reasonable prices for high APV beers (eight ounces of a 2009 imperial russian stout was only $4).

selection was great, with about one third of the offerings from Stone in-house, and the rest guest taps and bottles. lost abbey, port brewing, and others were represented.

food was great. the cheese soup was a must-have; extremely good! also, the fried mashed potatoes were excellent as well. very high quality and unique offerings from the kitchen.

overall, this was the highlight of the trip to Escondito for this BA. excellent beer, excellent food, a great atmosphere and friendly waitstaff. highly recommended. cheers!

A MUST visit if in the SD/Escondido area! This is a five-star establishment, one certainly for those "worthy"!! IMHO, try the humus and the yakisoba, paired w/ a nice IPA and you will not be disappointed! I cannot WAIT for the Richmond location to materialize....closer to the ol' homestead!!!!

Stone is the biggest brewery/restaurant I have been to thus far. Huge parking lot, huge space, but it is still quite crowded most of the time. Expect to wait for pretty much everything. They have a solid list of taps and bottles with the occasional rare treat. Service has always been good.

Frequently crowded, Stone can be a tough spot to find a table at. Selection is almost always above average (and quality - at least in terms of beers from other breweries), but the quality of the brewery's own draft beers is often lacking - especially relative to the price.

Service has never been stellar during my many visits here. Expect long lines to order beers, surprisingly unknowledgeable waitstaff (most of whom seem to be blindly devoted to Stone's offerings - or just brainwashed by the company culture), and the occasional odd issue with general customer service or even basic human courtesy (I saw someone with a legitimate driver's license clearly showing their well-past 21 birthdate get rejected when trying to order a beer because the license happened to be expired by less than a month; it's not like Stone would have been fined or anything had they been caught as nothing illegal would have transpired). I imagine they employ a paranoid GM who trains the staff this way, replete with suspect poppycock antidotes about California's governmental regulators "cracking down" on alcohol-serving establishments. I guess they really did commit to the whole "Arrogant Bastard" image - and not in the tongue-in-cheek way they might have us believe...

The pricing is quite high by San Diego craft beer standards; compare to Lost Abbey <20 minutes away. Food is quite pricey as well, but I've heard it's good.

The vibe is a bit sterile and impersonal. Stadium-esque parking can barely accomodate the demand. The crowd is mostly casual beer drinkers and tourists who have heard of Stone - or think it's hip because they saw Stone's fantastic marketing via an Arrogant Bastard bottle at Trader Joe's. But (of course) there are plenty of hardcore craft beer fans, and I'm always glad to stumble upon Stone's promotion of homebrewers at their many events - provided I can find a table.

All things considered, Stone World Bistro & Gardens is more for casual "I like hoppy beers" and "Oh, this is good! What's in this?" type drinkers than discerning enthusiasts, but it's worth stopping in on the way to breweries like Lost Abbey, Ballast Point, or even Alpine if you fancy a San Diego beer trip. I'm sure I'll end up back at Stone for a pint or two, if only to avail of their guest beer selection.

Stone's mothership lived up to the hype! Really cool place. Tour with Haley was definitely worthwhile, and Cherry was the best waitress I've ever had! Food was a little too "foodie" for my taste, but there was more than enough to choose from. Picked up a bottle of Enjoy After - which I hadn't seen on the east coast at all.

Although it’s tucked away in an industrial park (a common theme for these San Diego breweries), they’ve really done a great job making this place their own. Very large selection of beer, both their own and others, with high quality, tasty food, and a really unique feel - kinda industrial sterilized, yet outdoorsy and natural (gee, kinda like stones?). Also a nice tap room and gift shop attached.

In terms of an ambience it doesn't get better than this in the US or maybe the world. The outdoor beer garden is a peaceful and relaxing array of beauty and heart.

The draft list is always stacked with Stone special offering and they also leave a good chunk for some of their friends like Russian River and Alpine and other SD breweries. The bottle list used to be insane but most of the older stuff (like the 3L Stonewall) have all been depleted.

The food is fantastic, rotating and the Arrogant Bastard Rings that used to be the must have now transitioned into Beer pretzels (amazing) and short ribs (world class). A great place that you can bring the infants too and they are always staffed appropriately to meet the demands. Be sure to make a reservation on Saturdays and during special events.

The days when the anniversary parties were there were some of my favorite. All in all this is the #1 spot for anyone out of state doing the SD tours.

Nice place but can get way crowded on most evenings. Try the Point Loma location if this one is too busy. Recommend getting a reservation if going here after 5:00 pm.

Literally the Disneyland of beer. I've yet to visit an all around better environment to relax and enjoy a cold one in.

I totally geeked out at this experience. The beer selection is pretty good. Vibe is very chill and not pretentious. I had the brisket, which was okay, not smoked and the sauce it was submerged in was a little sweet for me. My wife had the sausage which was spicy, but not overpowering, went well with the IPA I was drinking. I highly recommend.

As a San Marcos, CA local this is my favorite brewery to relax at. Stone beer is not necessarily a favorite of mine but the atmosphere is wonderful. The grounds are unmatched in beauty by any local brewery- even families and children don't seem out of place in the beautiful garden. They have a great guest tap list and the brewery tour is a nice touch.

Your arrogance does not exempt the fact that you cannot put out a decent brew other than IPAs without stealing the recipe from a homebrewer or collab.

The Stone tasting room is nothing short of the apex of the convergence of beer and culinary culture. The place is massive and gorgeous. The garden area is very kid friendly while the more formal dining area is swanky enough for the nicest occasion. While there were 12 or so Stone beers and a similar number of guest beers on tap, the Stone beers are all widely available. I would love to see some of their more limited beers available for those who have made the pilgrimage. While the beer offering may not impress serious beer folks, the food should - it is creative and fantastic. All-in- all, Stone should not be missed.
