The Stone Bistro is kind of in the middle of nowhere. Probably 30 miles north of San Diego. Walking in reveals a gift shop and hostess stand. My party was seated immediately so the gift shop had to wait. It was a nice day so outside seating worked out well. The place looks modern with a metal and wood motif. Outdoors is a different story - stones everywhere. The place comes across as pretty upscale but still fun and relaxing. Quality is top notch but I'm guessing you get what you pay for. Service is nice and friendly. Might have been a little slow but that doesn't become an issue while enjoying a brew in these surroundings. Tap selection was pretty good and included: Stone, Alesmith, and Deschutes. Bottles that I saw included: Boulevard, Cantillon, Fantome, Lost Abbey, Port, Bruery, De Dolle, and Bosteels. The Food is quite expensive but still very good. All the selections my party ordered arrived quick and correct. All the food tasted very good. The deep fried mashed potato balls were much better than expected. After dinner I would recommend taking a stroll through the garden before leaving.
Overall this was a great place to have dinner and a beer. The food is pricey but this is a great experience that I could easily recommend to anyone that happens to be in the area. If I were a little more local I could see stopping by occasionally for a brew.
