When I found out that I was going to be in San Diego in late Sept., the first thing I did was plan my trip up to Stone. I was glad I did! I have been a fan of their beers for years and to pair it with some interesting food sounded like a winner. As mentioned in many reviews before, you have to be looking to find this place in an up-and-coming industrial park. Once past the store and the front desk of the rest., you find a wide open seating area with bar at center and a glass wall leading to the outside seating/garden. We went outside because it was a beautiful SoCal afternoon. My son enjoyed walking around the garden and it killed time til he got his food. Some folk did look at us as if we were at church and we were disturbing their worship, but who cares!
Our server (Laura) was cool. My kid's food came quickly and the beers were timed nicely. She was also very honest about her likes/dislike about the menu and she did a great job guiding my unsure wife.
The food menu was well rounded, but a little pricey for the portions we received. The beer menu, on the other hand, was outstanding. I had a Bastard, a Ruination, and a Port Brewing The Twerp. All three were great and I wish I had more time to expore the rest of the draft list. I grabbed a copy of the beer menu because I know that folks would not believe me when I tell them the selection.
I think that it was worth my time and effort to get to this place. The only other knock I had was regarding the event for the evening. I was there on Sept. 30; the night of the nation toast in honor of Michael Jackson. It was mentioned on the beer menu ($1 from each pint sold to the Parkinsons group), but I was there from 4:45pm to 6:45pm and did not hear or see anyone taking part. Granted, I was on the outside deck, but I had a clear shot at the bar and still did not see any activity. If I missed it, sorry but I was worried that the moment was lost on some people.

This place is a castle. Well staffed. It's amazing. You have to visit it to see it for yourself. Images will not do it justice.
Food is from Stone Farms. Very tasty.
All Stone brews on tap as well as many other world class brews if you want to switch it up. Such a cool experience to visit this spot.
