I had my wedding rehearsal lunch here. Unbelievable afternoon. Great place to throw a special occasion! The food was outstanding and the beer they provided use was top notch. I highly recommend using stone for any upcoming milestones in your life. It really is why we are here. Sure it's costly, however you can't take it with you. -Huff

Went there this past July on a Sunday. Be sure to call in advance and a reserve a slot for the tour. Did the beer tour, and then headed to the beer garden. The tour guides and bartenders were excellent. The beer selection in the garden was 2nd to none. They had a wide selection of micro-brews from many different breweries. The bartenders recommended non-Stone beers based on what we told them we liked.
Ordered the BLT sandwich. It was out of this world. Best BLT I ever had, and I have had plenty. I hope to go back some day.

Beautiful setting. Nice garden. Great shop to buy the latest tee shirts as well as glassware. There is a huge glass wall between the brewery and the restaurant that allows you to view what's going on. There is a nice garden that you can wander through and take your drink with you.

The actual brewery and restaurant is pretty impressive in size and décor considering it is still a craft brewery. They have a wide selection of their beers as well as a wide choice of other local breweries beers and ones from all parts of the world. Unfortunately we decided to eat there on our visit and therefore the main thing that stood out was how awful and expensive the food was. Their world bistro take on their food selection sounded good but was barely cooked when we got it, tasted awful and was at room temperature. Stick to the regular bar food dammit.

I went to this place while in SD recently. It is a pretty good place overall. Service was just ok. Beer was good as it has been before and always will be. The only reason I would have to come is for the beer. That is the best part.
The design of the place is good and is very impressive. I just got the feeling I was being sold something while I was there. I can't blame them for selling "stuff" , but it seemed like the gift shop was front and center. Prices were high as well.
I think I would come by again when in SD to have the beer however.

The brewery can actually be difficult to locate since there's no sign on the outside of the building. Once inside, there are 3 main areas: the tasting room and gift shop, the bar, and the outdoor seating area. The bar is great because it has a casual modern feel with a waterfall and small riverbed running through it. You can sit in the bar and watch the tours go through the brewery through the glass walls. The best part of the brewery though is the outdoor seating area that is similar to a zen garden with bushes and trees everywhere. It's a great place to sit and enjoy a beer in serenity and peace. It's a slice of paradise surrounded by rock walls. The beers are great depending on what's on tap as well. Apparently, their food is outstanding as well but I can't say since I didn't have any while I was there. I highly recommend this place if you're in or near San Diego.

Oh, Stone. Why so arrogant? Oh, well. It is just your nature I suppose.
The first couple times I went to Stone I was impressed by their selection and by the tour that they hosted. Then things quickly changed. The beers that they offered were not as special as they could be. The atmosphere is stunning with the decoration they put into the place, but they seem to have fallen off of their core capability - producing "craft beer."
The last couple of offerings I have had have not impressed me. The flagship is not bad, but because it has been around for a while, it has become less exciting.
Staff is not so friendly, really becoming a place to feel like you are getting the shaft.
Please change this Stone. Deep down I believe in you.

Beer lovers should definitely plan a trip here if they are in the area.
Stone is certainly in the forefront of the craft beer revolution.
Food was good, but the size and look of the brewery is incredible.
I could spend all day just hanging out and drinking great Stone beers.
I plan to visit again this year during our yearly California visit.

Visited Stone Brewing on June 3 2013. This was my first time in California and I was not going to miss out visiting Stone.
The bar/restaurant was nice. We sat out by the out door bar and the moved on to the gardon area. Garden area was a good place to sit and enjoy a few beers and talk with friends.
The beer selection was good. They had all their main beers on tap and they were delicious. Was able to have the enjoy by 07.04.2013. My favorite beer of the day was the Espresso Imperial Russian Stout. Had it in bottle back home, but was much better on tap.

Came here in January for the Enjoy By release and stayed for the tour and lunch. A great friendly atmosphere and very helpful and friendly staff made this a great experience. The beers were all exceptional as Stone always is, and to have Enjoy By fresh from the tap was an experience unto itself. The cheese soup was fantastic as was the BLT. Also had their Mac and Cheese which was some of the best I have ever tasted. The outside patio next to the garden was amazing and seeing how they are working to do their share to protect the environment really made me feel good about what they are about. Going back in July for a beer tour and bottle shopping and will definitely be stopping in for a repeat experience.
