Bought this almost a year ago. Finally getting to it. Dark black body. Smokey sweet cocoa aroma. Sweet lightly smoked taste. Some chocolate flavors. Hint of caramel and maple.

Thanks to blacknyellow20 for this beer, which has been resting in my fridge for roughly the term of a full length pregnancy. 375ML red-waxed bottle split with my wife from what is assuredly the oddest outdoor patio in the U.S.
The beer pours black – imagine that – with little to no head. Nose isn’t terribly strong for all the shit they poured into this brew. Chocolate is the only really prominent experience, with nuts & sweet molasses kicking about the fringes. Not bad.
Beer is Dark is one of those beers that’s thicker than blood. Huge malty mouthfeel, thick as a sequoia, filling up the mouth crevices like a good mortar. The taste can’t quit stand up to that loveliness: strong nuttiness, half-inch dusting of cocoa powder, sweet-on-sweet. I could have taken the dwarf bottle myself.
Peaks in that thick-ass mouthfeel. It always amazes me when brewers put 184 malts & hops into a beer & it comes out tasting tame, like this one. Pretty good beer.
