A-Black in the glass, some carbonation, one finger off white head.

S-Good deal of dark fruits, some smoke and some roasted malt.

T-Lots of dark fruits, along with smoke, roasted malt, slight chocolate and no bitterness.

M-Lighter, not much carbonation and almost watery.

O-The booze was hidden well and the smoke and dark fruits was an interesting combination, they just didn't fully go together.

Reviewed last night with full notes taken to my phone. Thanks to my cousin Sonny for sending this my way.

A- Black bodied pour to several glasses at a tasting. Light tan head builds up to about a finger with a foamy texture. Lacing consists of sheets and webs.

S- Nutty and roasty. Tons of toasted nuts along with a hefty roast malt base and some smoke. Raisins and cherry as well.

T- Spicy and strong with a bit of a strong BSDA feel. Spiced raisins, toasted nuts and dried red fruits are huge with a spiced fruit cake feel. Cocoa powder, dark candi sugar, earthy hops, medicinal fruit, brown sugar and some alcohol.

MF- Medium bodied with a fairly high carbonation and a silky, foamy texture. Sort of on the thin side for the flavors. Finishes quite warm.

Extremely nutty and dark fruit laiden with quite a bit kf roast and alcohol coming into play. The body could use some thickness but fairly solid all around.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and vanilla aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and vanilla flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid roast aspects all around.

Fast pouring dark, thick black brew. Straw colored toasty head. Little lacing no legs.

Smokey, crisp caramel, roasty, milk chocolate. Kinda tight nose. Hazelnut....?

Crispy, milky, dry chocolate sweetness. Forward and well done. A bit too light in flavor and too heavy in smoked malt. Not quite as deep as I'd had imagined, but still nice. Complexity is wound well with moderate dry earthy carbonation.

Overall, a solid brew. Nothing i'd seek again, but still nice. Recommended at the right price.

Thanks to blacknyellow20 for this beer, which has been resting in my fridge for roughly the term of a full length pregnancy. 375ML red-waxed bottle split with my wife from what is assuredly the oddest outdoor patio in the U.S.

The beer pours black – imagine that – with little to no head. Nose isn’t terribly strong for all the shit they poured into this brew. Chocolate is the only really prominent experience, with nuts & sweet molasses kicking about the fringes. Not bad.

Beer is Dark is one of those beers that’s thicker than blood. Huge malty mouthfeel, thick as a sequoia, filling up the mouth crevices like a good mortar. The taste can’t quit stand up to that loveliness: strong nuttiness, half-inch dusting of cocoa powder, sweet-on-sweet. I could have taken the dwarf bottle myself.

Peaks in that thick-ass mouthfeel. It always amazes me when brewers put 184 malts & hops into a beer & it comes out tasting tame, like this one. Pretty good beer.

Bought this almost a year ago. Finally getting to it. Dark black body. Smokey sweet cocoa aroma. Sweet lightly smoked taste. Some chocolate flavors. Hint of caramel and maple.
