12 oz. bottle poured into a Delirium Tremens Tulip. Brown to golden in color with respectable clarity, a few particles trickle down to the bottom. Nice creamy extremely pale orange colored head. Big, thick and frothy looking, really good lacing as well. Good looking beer, style doesn't matter.
Smell is good, HUGE and Generous amounts of barley. Sort of a natural sweet, nectar aroma. Citrus hops are present, but are the backups to the heavy malt profile. No aromas from the high alcohol content, but slightly warms the nose. Smell isn't bad, but points lost to it smelling much more like a barleywine than a double IPA in my opinion.
Taste is very good. Again huge amounts of malted barley. Slight natural flavors of bitterness. Sort of citrus zest and a sappy pine flavor, courtesy of the hops used. Hops more prevalent in the flavor profile than the smell, as well as the alcohol. Tastes more like a barleywine too, but wont be as harsh because it's darn good.
Mouthfeel and drinkability were good too. Full bodied, but the balance didn't come out as well as I think intended. I don't think everything was "doubled" hence the name. I feel like the malts overpower everything in the flavor a little more. I wouldn't call it heat from the alcohol, but there's a slight bite. Good carbonation level. A little dangerous because it drinks like an IPA not a barleywine. I don't think I'd drink this regularly, but I like it. Well done Dark Horse!

Appearance is a amber red color with a one finger white head that faded fast.
Aroma is bready, malty, sweet honey. Faint pine.
Taste is sticky sweet, malty and bready flavors that are well balanced.
Mouthfeel is medium to full with a perfect bitterness.
This is a great example of a high high abv ipa.
Reminds me a lot of gorillanaught. I'm impressed.
Would love to drink this again!
