12oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass. No bottled date.
(A)- Pours a mahogany amber. This is the darkest DIPA I have ever seen! Thick foamy, almost orange but white head that took awhile to dissipate down to a 1-finger head. It looks so thick initially that a bottle cap just might have actually floated on top! Plenty of lacing, it created a big ring around the glass from the initial pour.
(S)- Citrus galore of grapefruit, pineapple, and lime. Serious pine and malt background. Smells like this is gonna be really sweet; it smells almost candy-ish sweet.
(T)- Wow! This is strong! Puckered citrus primarily lime with grapefruit secondary. Big hoppy bite with a warming alcoholic boozy flavor. Huge sweet malt backbone that is near caramel in flavor but more like brown sugar.
(M)- Despite the big citrus, hops, and huge sweetness. This is actually really smooth. Even with a massive 13.6%abv! Granted there is a respectable warming feel from so much alcohol, but its not a burning sensation. Complex and seriously strong. Carbonation level is spot on.
(D)- Man, one of these will get you drunk no problem! Massive in pretty much every way, but incredible balance and not overpowering in one way or another. The only thing that really hurts the drinkability is its crazy abv, and how full it makes you feel after one. This will age forever! I only wish I knew how old or young this was to gauge how well it actually does over time. It could be fresh, a few months old, or a year. WE NEED BOTTLED DATES PPL!!

Pours a rich, perfect amber, into a traditional pint glass. Head quickly dissipates, and there is little lacing. Usual IPA scents of pine, citrus, and a hint of honey, breadiness, and certainly detectable booziness. Taste is similarly citrusy, with a more heavy breadiness component that lends an overt sweetness to the citrus. Despite a heavier boozy note on the tongue, it is much less bitter than expected. This contributes to a heavy but balanced and not overpowering mouthfeel. Recommended, for a higher ABV, yet very drinkable, double IPA.
