Wow, I got one of my "Want" beers from Iadler in the midwest! Woohoo, enjoying from a pint glass after a flash chill in my freezer for fifteen minutes.
A: Pours a nice rich cup of brownie brown with a frothy tan micro foam head. Lacing isn't copious but it is tenacious. What there is, wants to last.
S: Smells of burnt sugar rum, toffee, apricot and deep roasted malts.
T: Wow. Slick wet caramel flavors with a hint of smokey phelonic on the tongue. It dances well with a roasty malt backbone and only the barest hint that a hop might've touched it briefly. The alcohol dries out the aftertaste into a rum raisin flavor.
M: Delicious and very well balanced. Wet up front with a dryness from the alcohol on the back end. The alcohol gets all over on your booboo fast on this one. Savor it slowly.
O: Excellent. This could easily be the base for DFH's WWS before all of the supplemental sugar feedings.

Pours an opaque deep brown with a frothy, lingering khaki head.
Notes of treacle and toffee erupt from the glass, with dates and prunes adding complexity. Rum soaked raisins come to mind, along with a slightly savory, not quite soy character.
Flavor reveals brown sugar and caramel malt serving as the backbone, becoming nutty and toffee like in the slightly sweet finish. Underlying notes of muted prunes, raisins, and dates are welcome distractions from what could be slightly cloying malt sweetness. Cola characteristics emerge late.
Body is on the full side, with modest carbonation and moderate alcohol warmth.
Nice malt character, with a decent amount of estery complexity. Some may think this to be too sweet, but I enjoy it.
