From 10/4/12 Tasting Notes... Thanks to ncketchum for the bottle. Poured this into a CBS snifter. Served just slightly chilled.
A) Deep brown, with a thin beige head. No lacing noted. Some legs on this...
S) Darker malt with sweet caramel. This has a little vanilla too. It's a little oaky/nutty, pecan I think. This had kind of a turtle sundae aroma.
T) Caramel, vanilla, again a bit woody. This is close to the nose. There is a very light hop bitterness, and just the slightest hint of alcohol. This has a very pleasing aftertaste. Actually, this was quite delicious.
M) The body was lighter than I expected, I'd say medium. The carbonation was pretty light. This was really smooth, very easy to sip on. No alcohol burn at all. Nice finish...
O) Quite possibly my new favorite Scotch Ale... Glad to recommend this beer...
