Dark, dark brown. Not a lot of head. Poured thick and creamy.
Smells like milk chocolate and dark bread. At this point you could tell me it's a porter and I'd believe you.
Sweet, with chocolate, molasses and dark English malts. A hint of hop bitterness at first. A little warmth in the finish, kind of like a Kahlua drink. This tastes luxurious. A while back I hammered on Harpoon Chocolate Stout for tasting just like chocolate milk, but it tasted like the heavy chocolate flavors here actually come from malt, and the creaminess feels like the result of oat malt.
I love the creamy mouthfeel. This is a heavy beer that I could spend an hour on (I won't.) I'm really glad I picked this up.
Drinkability is what I'd expect for a Wee Heavy. I'll be following this with something lighter-bodied and more bitter.
