A-Apple juice-colored brew w/light 1-finger head and a little tracing. The body is hazy from matter in suspension.
S-Nice aroma of herbal, citrus, and pine w/an even toasted malt backbone.
T-Slightly sweet malt w/strong herbal hops and a little pine and citrus. The flavor is pleasant, but the finish is unsatisfying, w/the herbal hops dominating, and failing to cleanse the palate. The aftertaste is of sweet cereal/grain in the front of the mouth and on the sides of the tongue, and the back of the tongue is coated by bitter hop oils.
M-Carbonation is on the strong side and the overall balance is interestingly even, but not harmonious.
D-Throughout the drinking experience few of the components seem to come together to produce a result greater than the sum of the parts. Still, a decent IPA that is easily quaffed. This is my second Dark Horse candidate this week after a long absence, and I am overall impressed by their offerings.
